Plant powered events are typically heavily focused on adults. The grown-ups are often knee deep in meal prep and smoothie recipes. As a mom, I know that getting your kids to put more fruits, vegetables and grains on their plate can be tricky. When traveling, I am always concerned about ensuring that what we pack for the road trip is nourishing. Of course, deciding on an awesome after-school snack is always a challenge.
I am a food blogger with a focus on plant-based nutrition. But, that doesn’t mean that I always get my way. I have to admit that exposure to interesting plant-based meals helps. But getting our daughter to choose celery sticks over Takis is not yet a thing. That’s why the first ever Kids Festival being held in Brooklyn next month is such an awesome idea.
Why You and Your Family Should Attend
The festival promises plant-powered cooking demonstrations, opportunities to move your bodies and some very special guests. Below is just a sneak peek of the day. Be sure to visit https://www.ppkids.org/schedule for the full line up of festival events.

LA is a plant-based advocate from the Bronx. After years of spending time with vegans, vegetarians, foodies, chefs and wellness warriors, she has decided to study to become a nutritionist. What has she learned so far? All refrigerators at home should be below 40° ! Lol.
